Major Activites in My LifeIn general I find I play a lot of sports and cook a lot. This page has links and information about the sports I play and the teams I have been on, and also some helpful cooking links. My favorite sport is the game of Ultimate Frisbee. I have been playing since college. In college I played on my college team, called Clockwork Orange which was a womens team. During the summers I would go back to the San Francisco Bay Area and for a summer and 2 weeks played with Ebb and Flow, which was a great co-ed ultimate group out of the Menlo Park Area. Now I am out in Singapore and I play pick up with a group that can loosly be called Singapore Ultimate. Ultimate has been good for me. While I love volleyball, and now play a bit on the beach, and I really enjoyed my time rowing crew, I find that the people who play ultimate are a good group that I enjoy a lot. My other major activity is cooking. At Princeton I was part of the Two Dickinson Street Co-op which was a group of around 40 who would cook and eat together. I would cook once a week for the group, liberaly using our 25 pound bag of chocolate chips. I still cook once a week, only now it is just for four people that I work with. I love making food and have found a lot of great links to food places on the net. The Dinners Co-op is a great source of recipies, and Flora's Hideout has a lot of great dessert recipies. Then their is Ketchum Kitchen a friendly home of food and cooking fun. I also like Veggies Unite a vegan storehouse of information. Now that I am living in South East Asia, I have been trying more local dishes and letting the local flavors flavor my dishes. Cooking, especially baking is a great way to spend ones time. I also like to read a lot, and read on average a book a day. Sometimes good books, sometimes trashy ones, but I believe balance is the most important thing, and as long as I temper my trash with more serious literature, I am doing a good job of working my mind. I also travel a bit. In the last year I have visited many more countries then I had in the previous 20 years. I have been to Bali, Thailand, parts of Malaysia and my next trip is to Austrelia. I am enjoying getting a chance to see more of the world and learn more about what is happing in various forign countries, expecially in terms of religion and politics. So travel is intersting and I hope to keep it up at least until Augest when I hope to be back in the states. This is just a bit on my general intersts and activities. |
